EV3 and Python | EV3 and Vernier
Speakers: Rasmus Kits, Heilo Altin
Description: First part of the webinar is about programming LEGO Mindstoms EV3 robot with Python programming language. Speaker is Rasmus Kits, a teacher from Tallinn 21. Highschool. Second part of the webinar gives examples how to use LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots with Vernier sensors and how to use robots in STEM lessons. Speaker is Heilo Altin from the University of Tartu.
Clearbot – Bridge to Engineering and Manufacturing
Speaker: Veiko Vunder
Description: Manufacturing is always in development and needs workforce with innovative thinking and skills. We have educated young generation with robotics more than 10 years but we can see that there is a lack of platforms for high-school level.
Clearbot is a robotics platform initially made for Robotex competitionon that uses a ROS (Robotics Operating System) software. It helps to understand and teach machine vision and Artificial Intelligence. The Clearbot robot, ROS and its capabilities and how manufacturing is using robots is introduced by PhD Veiko Vunder from University of Tartu.
Methodology and workplan for running a robotics club
Speaker: Sven Hendrikson
Slides: Robootikaringi juhendamine ja tööplaan
Description: The IT-teacher from Tartu Kivilinna School is talking about the methodology and workplan of running a robotics clubs. He has more than 10 years of experience running educational robotics in School in curricular and extracurricular bases. He has developed a system from grade 1 to grade 9 using different robotics platforms and approaches, starting from LEGO WeDo and ending with custom-made Arduino based platforms. He has the keywords of narrative learning (Storytelling), gamification, 3D printing etc.
Virtual reality in architecture and design
Presenter: Faculty of Architecture and Design, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava
Description: A webinar prepared by Faculty of architecture and design of Slovak university of technology in Bratislava. Pupils can find out that architectural design is not just about designing buildings and products but it’s also about experimenting and using new technologies like virtual and augmented reality. During the webinar we will introduce individual projects that we are working on in design – automotive, and architecture – the use of virtual and augmented reality in architecture. Digitalization in mechanical engineering
Presenter: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava
Description: In this video, prepared by Faculty of mechanical engineering of Slovak university of technology in Bratislava, you can see some of the possibilities of digitalization in mechanical engineering. Use of modern and innovative technologies, software and procedures. Digitization brings optimization of processes in production but also in preparation of production, in design of parts, technological processes. In this area we can also include software tools that allow us to simulate the processes in production, without the need to build physical models or lines. The advantage is a significant saving of time and money and optimization of processes prior to implementation. Digitization is part of the production itself, where it participates in the collection of information and data, their sorting, rapid evaluation and re-implementation into the production process.
